On another note, being a woman in our country makes me extremely grateful to be an American. You can be who you want to be in this country and there's plenty of options to do so.
Americans pride themselves for their differences, for their individual beliefs, and their individual morals.
It doesn't mean that I can't write it, say it or publish it because in America we are encouraged to speak our minds and engage in the free market of ideas and thought. America promised its citizens freedoms such as freedom of speech, religion, assembly, and petition. We have the greatest military forces in the world Take it from Dr. The people that still ride the subways and that still fly on the planes and the trusting people who still drop their kids off to school in Manhattan. I am also proud of my fellow Americans for being able to maintain a free society in a time of terrorism and war. The freedoms our soldiers have fought for, including voting, are still just as important today as it was many years ago. We tend to shift our focus on what could be improved in this nation rather than what has been done so that we are able to live a good life here. If you are an American citizen over eighteen, you have the right to vote. Terrorists groups from around the globe have brutally killed countless Americans for disagreeing with them. We're still the land of the "American Dream" Contrary to popular belief, you can still have it all in America. I have the freedom of going to school, even if I don't like it. Together we stand. Now, everyone is allowed to marry whom they please Sure, there are still many battles ahead for the LGBT community. It is also currently troubled, divided and in need of strong leadership, but what country isn't?
I love that this country's values hold up to its name. We need to better understand each other and our stories to truly coexist together and redeem the unjust tragedies that have happened in the past. I am proud to be an American because of all the promises this great country has to offer to each of its citizens.
Every night I am able to thank the god of my choice for being able to go to sleep with a full stomach under a well-built shelter with peace of mind. As a woman in America I am, in general, the luckiest, most free, best educated and one of the most respected women in the world. The house, the white picket fence, the 2 kids and whatever else you are willing to work for. This is one reason why I am proud to be an American. These guarantee me the right of freedom. I can go to church on Sunday and worship God in the open. However, gay marriage having been legalized on June 26, was a big step for our country in terms of constitutional rights for all human beings. All Americans come from different backgrounds and cultures. I am proud to be an American because America will not stand for any actions like those of terrorists to deprive Americans of our rights. We are united in times of true crisis No matter how different we may seem, in times of chaos we always stand together as American citizens and mourn the same losses and celebrate the same victories. We were bombed in three different places throughout our country and one situation a brave citizen stopped the fourth from happening. Together we stand. These, along with other rights, were fundamental freedoms that America believed each citizen ought to be promised. We can speak up about the truth, through the media including that of the internet and press. We are the land of the free and the home of the brave. Many charitable organizations contributed to take care of their fellow Americans.
I can speak out for or against my Government.
